Notes: A rare migratory bird called the Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans) was recently sighted for the first time in Kerala by a Kozhikode-based ornithologist. It is a monotypic, large, white-headed gull and is one of the rarest gulls found in India. It usually nests on flat, low-lying land near water bodies like lakes, rivers, and reservoirs in steppe and semi-desert areas of Central Asia. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), its conservation status is Least Concern.

Notes: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh launched Bharat Gen Multimodal Large Language Model (LLM) at the BharatGen Summit. BharatGen is India’s first government-funded, indigenously built Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Multimodal Large Language Model. It is developed under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) and implemented by the TIH Foundation for Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Everything (IoE) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.

Notes: Recently, the Prime Minister of India addressed the 81st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the World Air Transport Summit (WATS) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. IATA was founded on 19 April 1945 in Havana, Cuba, to support safe, secure, reliable, and economical air services worldwide. The last Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in India was held in 1983, 42 years ago. Its main goals are to develop international air transport, ensure cooperation among airlines, improve safety, and create global air traffic rules.

Notes: Recently, a joint excavation by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Raigad Development Authority unearthed a rare ‘yantraraj’ or astrolabe at Raigad Fort, the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Raigad Fort is located in Raigad district of Maharashtra in the Sahyadri mountain ranges, also known as the Western Ghats. The Hirkani Buruj, a famous tower, is built on a high valley near the fort.</p>

Notes: Recently, the Kheer Bhawani festival was celebrated on Jyeshta Ashtami at the Kheer Bhawani Temple in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir. The temple is located near Srinagar and is dedicated to Goddess Ragnya Devi, an incarnation of Goddess Durga. It was originally built by Maharaja Pratap Singh around 1912 and later renovated by Maharaja Hari Singh. At the centre of the temple is a sacred hexagonal spring, known for its holy water. The temple and the festival are named after the sweet dish ‘kheer’, which is served as prasad to the devotees.
