Notes: Recently, the Union Government launched the Clean Plant Programme for grapes, oranges, and pomegranates in Maharashtra. Clean Plant Programme is a government initiative to provide disease-free and high-quality planting materials for horticultural crops like fruits, vegetables, and flowers. It aims to improve crop productivity and reduce losses by giving farmers access to certified, healthy plants. Notes: Researchers at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, recently developed a metal-based nanozyme to help control abnormal blood clotting caused by Pulmonary Thromboembolism (PTE). Pulmonary Thromboembolism is a condition where blood clots block arteries in the lungs, which can be life-threatening. Nanozymes are nanomaterials that act like enzymes and can be made from metals, metal oxides, or carbon-based substances. This new nanozyme could offer a promising treatment option by safely breaking down harmful clots.

Notes: Lee Jae-myung was sworn in as the 14th President of South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea, in Seoul on June 4, 2025. He won the Presidential by-election held on June 3, 2025, after the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol. Notes: Recently, the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), along with the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), launched the ICRISAT Centre of Excellence for South-South Cooperation. ICRISAT also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DAKSHIN, which is India’s initiative to promote South-South cooperation through training and partnerships. ICRISAT, headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana, was established in the 1970s as a non-profit under the CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research).
