BHASHINI stands for BHASHa INterface for India. It is an artificial intelligence-powered language translation platform developed under the National Language Translation Mission by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It builds a National Public Digital Platform for language-based services using artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

Notes: Recently, the Union Education Ministry formed a panel led by Vineet Joshi to reduce student dependency on coaching centres and review competitive exams. Vineet Joshi is the Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The panel has nine members and includes representatives from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, National Institute of Technology Trichy, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), along with school principals. Its goal is to suggest ways to reduce the coaching culture and check the fairness of entrance exams.

Notes: A recent genomic study revealed the spread of Rice Yellow Mottle Virus or RYMV across African rice ecosystems, posing a serious threat to rice production. Rice Yellow Mottle Virus is a plant virus that affects rice and some related grasses. It first appeared in the mid-1800s in the Eastern Arc Mountains, now in Tanzania, a region rich in biodiversity. It is mainly found in Africa and is present in most rice-growing countries on the continent.

Notes: Recently, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the logo, mascot, and 100-day countdown for the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championship. The event will take place from 26th September to 5th October at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. It is the 12th edition of the World Para Athletics Championships. This will be the biggest para athletics event ever hosted in India.

Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Upper Gangetic plain, Uttar Pradesh. Gharials are fish-eating reptiles with long, thin snouts and sharp teeth, making them skilled hunters in rivers. They are mainly found in Chambal and Girwa rivers in India and the Rapti-Naryani River in Nepal.
