The report highlights that India continues to drive global growth due to solid economic fundamentals and wise policies. Risks include geopolitical tensions, trade disruptions, and weather-related uncertainties.

Notes: Recently, the Wandan mud volcano in Taiwan erupted, sending bubbling mud into the air while locals set the escaping gases on fire with burning rags. A mud volcano is a small cone of mud and clay, usually less than a few meters high. It forms from hot water mixed with fine sediment, which either flows gently like lava or bursts out like a fountain due to volcanic gas and boiling water. The craters are shallow and erupt mud on and off, rebuilding cones that erode easily. Mud volcanoes, also called mud domes or sedimentary volcanoes, release gases like methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen along with often salty or acidic water.

Notes: Recently, the QUAD nations launched their first-ever At Sea Observer Mission to strengthen maritime cooperation. QUAD includes the Coast Guards of India, Japan, the United States, and Australia. The mission aims to boost maritime security and teamwork in the Indo-Pacific under the Wilmington Declaration. Two officers, including women, from each country have joined the United States Coast Guard Cutter Stratton, now heading to Guam.

Notes: Recently, the Department of Telecommunications and National Disaster Management Authority have been improving mobile disaster alerts to give timely warnings to people. The National Disaster Management Authority has operationalized the Integrated Alert System called SACHET, developed by Centre for Development of Telematics, based on the Common Alerting Protocol from the International Telecommunication Union. SACHET works in all 36 States and Union Territories and has sent over 6,899 crore Short Message Service alerts in more than 19 Indian languages during disasters. Now, Cell Broadcast technology is being tested to send alerts in near real-time during emergencies like tsunamis, earthquakes, or chemical hazards.
