Notes: Recently, two pilots were killed after a SEPECAT Jaguar aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near Churu in Rajasthan. The SEPECAT Jaguar is also known as ‘Shamsher’, meaning Sword of Justice. The SEPECAT Jaguar aircraft was jointly developed by the United Kingdom and France. It was a collaboration between the British Aircraft Corporation and the French Breguet Company (now part of Dassault). It is a twin-engine, ground-attack aircraft.

Notes: Recently, 11 people died and several vehicles fell into the Mahisagar (Mahi) River after the Gambhira-Mujpur bridge collapsed in Padra taluka, Vadodara district, Gujarat. The Mahi River is one of the major west-flowing interstate rivers of India. It flows through Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. The river is also known as “Mahisagar” due to its vast size. It originates from the northern slopes of the Vindhya Mountains in Madhya Pradesh at around 500 meters above sea level.

Notes: Recently, European Union ministers approved Bulgaria to adopt the Euro from January 1, 2026, making it the 21st member of the eurozone. Bulgaria is located in southeastern Europe, occupying the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula. It shares borders with Romania to the north, Turkey and Greece to the south, North Macedonia to the southwest, and Serbia to the west. It is bounded by the Black Sea on the east. The Balkan Mountains cross the central part of the country.

Notes: Recently, Hindustan Shipyard Limited delivered the ‘Nistar’ vessel to the Indian Navy at Visakhapatnam. ‘Nistar’ is the first indigenously designed and built Diving Support Vessel of India. The name ‘Nistar’ comes from Sanskrit, meaning liberation, rescue, or salvation. It has been constructed under the rules of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS). The ship can perform Deep Sea Diving and Rescue Operations, a rare capability globally. It will act as the Mother Ship for Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel (DSRV) to rescue submarine personnel in emergencies.</p>

Notes: Recently, the Defence Ministry called the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) project an &#8220;exemplary mission mode success&#8221;. Indigenously made ATAGS will replace vintage and smaller-calibre artillery guns in the Indian Army. ATAGS is a large-calibre gun system capable of firing future Long Range Guided Munitions (LRGM) with precision and deep strike. It has been designed and developed by Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), a Pune-based lab under Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
