1. Why did Taro run in the direction of the stream?

Ans: Taro ran towards the stream because he heard a new and unusual sound of rushing water in the quiet forest. He was also feeling very thirsty at that moment, so the sound drew him towards it.

2. How did Taro’s father show his happiness after drinking sake?

Ans: After drinking the warm saké, Taro's father felt extremely happy. The drink stopped his shivering from the cold. To express his joy, he got up and danced happily right there on the floor of their hut.

3. Why did the waterfall give Taro saké and others water?
