Answer the following questions.

2. In answer to the second question, whose advice did the people say would be important to the king?

5. How did the king and the hermit help the wounded man?

Answer: The king and the hermit provided immediate aid and shelter. The king carefully washed the man's wound and bandaged it with his handkerchief. When the bleeding continued, he kept re-dressing it until it stopped. They then carried him into the hermit's hut to rest, and the king gave him fresh water to drink.

6. (i) Who was the bearded man?
(ii) Why did he ask for the king's forgiveness?

Answer:
(i) The bearded man was the king's enemy. The king had executed his brother and taken his property, so the man had sworn to take revenge.
(ii) He asked for forgiveness because the king, not knowing who he was, had kindly saved his life. The king's compassionate act made the man feel ashamed of his desire for revenge.

7. The king forgave the bearded man. What did he do to show his forgiveness?

Answer: To show his forgiveness, the king took concrete steps to make amends. He sent his own personal doctor and servants to take care of the wounded man. Furthermore, he promised to return all the property that had been seized from him.

8. What were the hermit’s answers to the three questions? Write each answer separately. Which answer do you like most, and why?

Answer:
First Answer: The most important time is 'Now' or the present, because it is the only time we have the power to act.
Second Answer: The most important person is the one you are with at the present moment.
Third Answer: The most important thing to do is to do good to the person you are with.
